Winter Festival - Claude Debussy
The 2008 winter festival will take place between 7-9 November, and will focus on the music of Claude Debussy. Four concerts over the weekend will present Debussy's piano and chamber
music together with music by his most loved composers including Rameau, Bach, Mozart, Schumann,
and Chopin. The Saturday evening concert programme will present Debussy's three late sonatas - the violin sonata,
the cello sonata, and the sonata for flute, viola and harp. And on Sunday actor Samuel West will be at
St Mawes Chapel to read from Debussy's writings, which allow special insight into the man and his music.
